Lakeshore Church began in a living room in 1990. The founding pastor, Steve Yeary, and a few families soon found a space to lease for services in the Fall of that year. Lakeshore officially opened its doors in a storefront strip in Rowlett as a new church affiliated with Assemblies of God. After four years, the founding pastor was called elsewhere for service, and Pastor Brad Howard assumed leadership of the church in September 1994.

As time passed, many new families were added, and the church outgrew the available space in the storefront location. In late 1996, after raising just over $100,000, Lakeshore moved to a historic building just off of the downtown Rockwall square. Growth continued, and very quickly there was a need for more educational space. While in downtown, Lakeshore purchased a neighboring home and used it as an overflow ministry space.

While in downtown Rockwall, God gave Pastor Brad a vision of 40 acres - with specific detail of running water on the property. Just a few years later in 2002, Lakeshore bought the current 50-acre property on Highway 205, which has an underground spring-fed pond. Before construction began in the fall of 2002, Pastor Brad buried a Bible under the foundation. God’s word continues to be the foundation on which Lakeshore is built!

In 2004, Lakeshore moved into the current facility. Soon after, additional services were added to facilitate the rapid growth, and in 2008, the children’s wing was expanded to better serve families with children. Today, Lakeshore continues to see God’s faithfulness as people take their next steps to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Growth has not slowed, and once again it is time to expand Lakeshore's current facility to make room for those who aren’t here yet.
